Keynote Speaker Fiona Lewinton Managing Director Force Protection & Physical Security, QINETIQ Roles and responsibilities Force Protection & Physical Security is one of six Business Units within the newly formed Technology Solutions Sector of QinetiQ EMEA. The 450 strong Force Protection & Physical Security Business Unit provides a focus for QinetiQ to deliver niche products, high-end integrated technology solutions, high calibre technical capabilities and unique services within the defence and security market. Profile Fiona's previous role in QinetiQ was as Managing Director Land, where she was responsible for delivering growth in QinetiQ’s Land vehicle and technology business. In April 2009 this was combined with QinetiQ’s sensor and EW businesses at Malvern and Portsdown to form the Force Protection and Physical Security Division. Fiona joined MoD in 1987 on the Engineering Fast Stream and had previously worked for Ferranti Computer Systems. She has since held a number of technical and managerial roles in MOD, DERA and QinetiQ including a two-year posting to the US in a business development role. |

Andy Lapping Andy Lapping came to IBM from Telelogic where he is a senior technical professional. He currently spends his days teaching and consulting with many different companies in many diverse domains, from medical to mil-aero, in aiding in the definition and application of MBD strategies on both Systems and Software projects. Andy's background is in railway signals engineering where he designed and tested safety critical signalling systems. With over a decade of experience in the fields of modelling, systems and software engineering, he has written and presented a number of papers and lectured on various aspects of engineering with the UML and SysML modelling languages. Andy has a 1st Class B. Eng Hons In Electronic & Electrical Engineering. |

Ross McMurran Ross McMurran is responsible for research projects in the areas of Electronics and Software within WMG at the University of Warwick. He leads a team of researchers from industrial and academic backgrounds with interests in the design, validation and diagnostics of automotive electronics, who work closely with a range of industrial partners. He was formally a Senior Manager in the Electrical Department of Jaguar and Land-Rover, with sixteen years experience in a variety of roles. His current research interests are focussed on the design for robustness of complex systems, including Intelligent Transportation Systems. Today a major part of his role is as the consortium project manager for the EVoCS project. |

Paul Anderson Paul Anderson is VP of Engineering at GrammaTech, a spin-off of Cornell University that specializes in static analysis. He received his B.Sc. from Kings College, University of London and his Ph.D. in computer science from City University London. Paul manages GrammaTech’s engineering team and is the architect of the company’s static-analysis tools. He has helped a wide variety of organizations, including NASA, the FDA, the FAA, MITRE, Draper Laboratory, GE, Lockheed Martin, and Boeing, apply automated code analysis to critical projects. Paul has worked in the software industry for 18 years, with most of his experience focused on developing static-analysis, automated-testing, and program-transformation tools. |

Dr. Edwin de Jong Dr. Edwin de Jong is Director of Product Management and Strategy, Core Products at Real-Time Innovations, Inc. Edwin de Jong has more than 15 years experience in the architecture and design of large-scale distributed real-time systems. These systems encompass C4I, radar, track management, multi-sensor data fusion, threat evaluation, weapon and sensor assignment, and simulation and training. Edwin currently serves RTI as Director of Product Management and Strategy, Core Products. Edwin joined RTI in 2005 following RTI's acquisition of 4TEC, a company he co-founded in 2002 and led as CEO. 4TEC provided products and services for distributed real-time database management. 4TEC's customers were major defense contractors, including Thales and Northrop-Grumman. Prior to leading 4TEC, Edwin worked as an R&D manager at Thales. He advised and assisted in the application of real-time publish-subscribe middleware in the development of combat-management systems, and he co-authored more than 25 published technical papers and reports. His fields of expertise include systems architecture, large-scale distributed (hard) real-time systems, fault tolerance, networking and communication protocols, real-time in-memory databases, system modeling and analysis, formal specification and analysis, and software engineering systems and tools. Barry Buxton Barry Buxton Technical Manager EMEA joined RadiSys in 1996 and since then has been involved with many of Europe’s leading Telecommunication Equipment Manufacturers within a wide variety of technologies, including Voice and Signalling Gateways, SBC designs and high performance Network Processing applications in security and 3G markets. Barry represents RadiSys within the PICMG Europe and is actively involved in RadiSys plans for PICMG compliant products in particular for ATCA, AMC and uTCA strategy. Andrew Haylett "After graduating in electronics engineering from Southampton University in 1983, Andrew was involved in research and development of high-speed local and wide area optical networks at GEC-Marconi Research Centre. He then moved to Primagraphics, now owned by the Curtiss-Wright Corporation, working on the design and implementation of a variety of video processing and display systems including an airborne analog/digital video switch and high-resolution digital video recorders. Colin Davies Business Development Manager, GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms Ltd Colin has over 25 years experience in the design and supply of COTS assemblies. Within GE Fanuc he has worked as European Business Development Manager for over 4 years, prior to this holding the position of Product Manager for the company’s systems integration business. He also manages GE Fanuc’s European application engineering team. Colin is a Chartered Electrical Engineer and holds a degree in Electronic Engineering. He has also participated in the generation of numerous COTS standards associated with VMEbus and other open standards such as MilCAN. |

David Price David Price joined Pi Shurlok in 2004 as Senior Engineering Manager of the Cambridge, UK Design Centre, where he has been heavily involved in developing control strategies for common rail fuel injection and after treatment controls in diesel powertrains. His breadth of experience in automotive system engineering guided the latest generation of the innovative Pi Shurlok OpenECU products, which are revolutionising the development route, from concept to manufacture, of electronic control systems. Prior to Pi Shurlok, David led the Systems Engineering team at the Motorola European Automotive design centre, having spent three years at Motorola’s centre in Detroit. An engineering science graduate of The Queen's College, Oxford, David has held senior roles with leading companies in the UK automotive industry. While at Lucas in Birmingham he worked on Electronic Throttle systems and then On Board Diagnostic systems, leading the team that implemented the Sagem-Lucas OBD II system onto four new 95 model year vehicles. |

Christian Ganninger Dipl.-Ing. Christian Ganninger, born 1971, made 1999 his grade as electrical energy technology engineer at the Fachhochschule Karlsruhe. After that he worked as a design engineer backplanes and technical coordinator backplanes and later on as a project manager backplanes and systems in a company that designed and produced 19" systems and backplanes. Today he is Product- and market manager for MicroTCA, Backplanes and PSU's at Schroff GmbH in Straubenhardt. |

Joseph M. Jacob Joseph M. Jacob is Senior Vice President of Objective Interface Systems, Inc. Joe is a frequent presenter on the use of communications middleware in Software Defined Radios (SDR), and Multiple Independent Levels of Security (MILS) architecture. He is also a frequent presenter and writer on High Assurance Middleware, and he is the Chair of the SDR Forum Safety-Critical Working Group. He has authored articles on SDR and MILS applications which have been published in both the United States and Europe. Joe holds a B.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a double major in economics and political science. He also holds a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School.
